Executive Summary
The main objective of the study was to shed light on how misinformation affects different actors (refugees, host communities, beneficiaries, non-beneficiaries, policy makers, implementing agencies) and how this impacts their social interactions and behavioral patterns. The results of the study aims to help implementing organizations to reassess their communication efforts by understand how detrimental misinformation can be for social stability and the indirect and unexpected effect that cash assistance can have on social dynamics. The evaluation covered the neighborhoods in Baalbek-Hermel, Akkaar, Beirut and Mount Lebanon and considered refugees, host communities, beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of assistance, since all these categories are affected by misinformation regarding cash.
